Clear terms.
No surprises.
We believe in transparency. Here's exactly what you're agreeing to when you use My Second Brain.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using My Second Brain ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and My Second Brain.
Service Description
My Second Brain is an auto-journaling platform that ingests messages from WhatsApp (and future messaging platforms) and processes them using AI to create organized, searchable notes in your personal Obsidian vault.
To provide this service, we securely store and process your messages on our servers. Only AI systems read your messages — no human staff member ever accesses your message content. Processed results are delivered to your Obsidian vault.
The Service is provided "as is" and may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time with reasonable notice.
User Accounts & Beta Access
During our beta period, access requires a valid beta key. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. One account per person — sharing accounts or beta keys is not permitted.
We reserve the right to revoke beta access at our discretion during the beta period.
Data Processing
Your messages are securely stored and processed by our AI systems to generate insights and organized notes. Only AI reads your message content — no human staff member ever accesses it. This storage is necessary to provide continuous analysis, pattern recognition, and the context that makes your vault useful.
For full details on how we handle your data, including encryption, retention policies, and your privacy rights, please see our Privacy Policy.
You retain full ownership and control of all data in your Obsidian vault.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the Service to process messages without the consent of conversation participants where required by law
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or compromise the Service's infrastructure
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension.
Intellectual Property
Your data is yours. All content in your Obsidian vault — notes, insights, and processed messages — belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your data.
The Service itself, including its design, code, AI models, and branding, is the intellectual property of My Second Brain and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
Your vault lives on your device. Even if you cancel, your data stays with you.
Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free processing, or specific outcomes from AI analysis.
My Second Brain is not a therapy tool, medical device, or clinical diagnostic system. Insights generated are informational only and should not replace professional advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding any claim.
Termination
You may cancel your account at any time. Upon cancellation, we stop processing new messages immediately. Your Obsidian vault remains on your device, untouched.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable. In cases of severe abuse, immediate termination without notice may occur.
You can request complete deletion of all data from our systems at any time via your account settings.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect.
Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
